Pro Tip
A welcoming opening tee shot which finishing just to the left of the fairway bunker, leaves the green wide open.
Left half of the fairway is the safe shot off the tee, however you will find the green well-guarded by the left greenside bunker on approach.
Pro Tip
Wide and welcoming. Longer hitters must be cautious as any tee shot over the brow will easily run into the right-hand side rough where the fairway bottlenecks.
However, any approach shot to the green should be aimed left half as the right greenside bunker swallows up many a shot.
Pro Tip
A downhill tee shot where everything rolls right to left. The ideal line off the tee is the gap between both giant Fir trees. For both the tee shot and the approach, take 1 club less than you think. Always aim right of the flag as the greenside bunker guards the left.
Pro Tip
Beautiful Par 3 played to a slightly elevated green. Front right of the green is the best line to take avoiding the cavernous bunker on the left.
Pro Tip
The first hole where you start to appreciate why the course at Beauport has the reputation of the ‘Beast in the Southeast’! Steep downhill left to right tee shot where accuracy is at a premium. Just left of the marker post is ideal. Only the boldest would use a driver. On approach, aim short and left as most shots will bounce right and long through the green.
Pro Tip
Fairly straight forward uphill tee shot to a long par 3. At least 1 extra club than you might at first think.
Pro Tip
A downhill short Par 4 which in Summer is a classic Risk & Reward tee shot for the longer hitters. Get it right and you will be putting for eagle, get it wrong and you will never see the ball again! For the regular hitter, a well-placed tee shot left of the tree, will leave an approach shot where you should try to pitch short of the green and allow the ball to run on.
Pro Tip
You thought the 5th was a challenge! Longer hitters will try to reach the saddle but beware any slight misjudgement off the tee will be punished. Regular hitters should treat this as a par 5 and will reap the rewards for doing so. Fail to treat this hole with respect and you will soon find out why it is called ‘Hidden Hazards’!
Pro Tip
A short tee shot to the brow of the hill should leave an approach shot of approximately 150 yards. Long or left of the marker post will result in a reload.
Pro Tip
You must be round the bend if you try to drive this green! An iron off the tee aiming left of centre is highly recommended as all shots bounce and roll down to the right rough. This will open up the hole for your approach shot into a two-tier green.
Pro Tip
Some would say it’s all downhill from here! Take a club less you think and aim short and left of the green. You cannot miss this right!
Pro Tip
The average length golfer should aim for the Monkey Puzzle tree. Longer hitters need to aim for the left half of the fairway, anything going right will probably end up in the stream. Do not miss this green long or right!
Pro Tip
With a bit more room out to the left then you think off the tee, you should aim your tee shot left of centre. The left-hand side of the hole is key as too far right will block off your approach. Any shot into the green should be slightly short and favour the left side.
Pro Tip
Good Luck! Comfortably the hardest hole on the course. Any tee shot must favour the left hand side as the whole fairway cambers heavily to the right. The marker post is a good line. Like the 8th regular hitters should treat as a Par 5 and reap the rewards for this. Never leave yourself with a downhill putt if you can help it!
Pro Tip
A well struck tee shot over the marker post will run downhill and open up the green for anyone brave enough to attempt to reach in two. Short of the marker post will require a medium iron to the right of the 2nd big tree on the left. Short and left side of the green on approach is key, as there is a hazard catching all wayward balls to the right and long is not an option.
